I really enjoyed watching death note, for the most part. I loved the anime for most of it due to how much mind games they were playing and the thrill of the chase between L and Light but I feel that the moment L died marked the beginning of the end for the show. Especially with the coming of Near which I believe is just not a good enough character to try to substitute L with.
