Could I realistically build a decent gaming pc for 500 or would I get more bang for my back by getting a ps5? I’m mainly leaning towards pc cause of mods but there are some ps5 exclusive games I’ve been wanting to play for a while so I’m conflicted.

Haha this is a easy answer. There is no way in hell you are building a pc for $500 that can match the ps5. Not even Sony can. They mainly take a loss on the consoles sales in the first few years to make more people buy it and they make make back way more is games sales so it's worth it for them. If you want top of line graphics and have a high budget get a pc but if you want bang for the buck you can't beat the consoles.
